Drink boiled water with the juice of half a lemon and optionally a teaspoon of forest honey every morning. This promotes the elimination of ama. Make sure that you drink about 1.5 to 2 liters of liquid every day. This can be warm water, but also herbal and spiced teas or ginger water (until 3 p.m.). Avoid cold, carbonated and caffeinated drinks such as coffee or black tea as well as alcohol.
Take the time to prepare wholesome, warm meals every day. You can find lots of recipe tips and inspiration in our daily detox challenge plan (see below). Choose high-quality cereal products, potatoes, vegetables and pulses and avoid raw food, fatty foods and fried foods.
You should eat fruit, salads and any raw vegetables no more than once a day. Avoid heavy foods such as cheese, quark, yoghurt, cream, sweets (sugar!) and red meat. To make food more digestible, season it with ginger, cumin, coriander, turmeric and pepper. Use high-quality olive oil or ghee for frying and seasoning.
During the two detox weeks, you should be the most important person in your life. Put yourself, your health and your well-being first. Try to get away from the stress of everyday life and reduce your thoughts about work, deadlines and hectic life. Maybe you can even switch off your smartphone? Turn your attention from the outside to the inside and try to be completely with yourself.
