Nutrition is the most important basis in Ayurveda. And a perfect tool for bringing your individual Dosha constellation into balance. The key is, as always, awareness and mindfulness. More precisely: Be aware of which Dosha type you are and pay attention to which foods you can bring your Doshas into balance.
In order to prevent an imbalance, none of the three bioenergies should prevail. Otherwise you will feel it quickly. Sometimes emotionally and sometimes physically. But in the summer or in the warm season, Pitta comes at full speed for everyone. For this reason, you can nicely balance out an excess of Pitta with delicious detox recipes.
What flavor does your pitta balance?
Typical Pitta characteristics include hot, spicy and oily. You can counteract these with the tastes sweet, bitter and tart. In addition, the food should be cool, dry and sufficient. Sweet, bitter and tart have a cooling effect. This is naturally desirable for the heated Pitta type. Sweet gives nourishment to your Agni, while bitter supports liver and gall bladder.
At the European Ayurveda Resort Sonnhof we also make sure that the products are untreated, as far as possible regionally and seasonally selected for the dishes. Learn more about the European Ayurveda® diet at Sonnhof here.
