How to ground yourself with European Ayurveda®

Grounding man to a tree

The holiday season is slowly coming to an end. Family and work life has slowly got you back. New projects, new tasks and new challenges await you! On top of that, you might have lots of ideas and wishes that you want to realise, but somehow can't find the time. Does this sound familiar? Our lives are sometimes so fast-paced and whirlwind that we quickly lose our footing. Especially in stressful situations, it is therefore important to ground yourself regularly and anchor yourself in the here and now.

The importance of grounding

A meditation in nature can reconnect you with the here and now.

You may still know the principle of earthing from your physics lessons: Electricity seeks the shortest path to earth. To prevent short circuits, electrical devices often have an earthing cable that connects the current to the earth. It's very similar with the earthing of you.

In European Ayurveda® we believe that everything is interconnected. You, your doshas and the energies of your environment are in regular exchange with each other. If your bioenergies are unbalanced, for example, this connection may be broken. Especially a lot of excess Vata can contribute to the fact that you literally have your head in the clouds and lose your inner stability. This manifests itself in inner restlessness, stress, a constantly spinning carousel of thoughts, and sluggishness in everyday life. You are not completely with yourself.

Grounding means, as the name already implies, that you keep the connection to your earthly environment and also draw new energy for your activities from it.

How to reconnect with yourself and your environment

Every one of us has a chaotic day. That's perfectly okay. But if you notice that you have somehow lost your footing, you should try to get back to yourself. In European Ayurveda® the unity with environment, body, mind and soul is important. Only in this balance you can become a better version of yourself.

Just go for a walk to clear your head. Leave the smartphone at home and concentrate on yourself. You can do a walking meditation that helps you to ground yourself again.

Bring routine into your everyday life. If your day follows a certain pattern, it helps your mind to better sort and cope with the tasks. Even a certain morning routine is good for lowering stress and thus also the Vata in you.

Meditation helps you to bring your body, mind and soul back into harmony with the environment. You canfind a few meditation exercises here.

Affirmations for your grounding

Try to reinforce your goals and grounding through affirmations. The positively reinforcing sentences help your subconscious to transform positively. Affirmations can be phrases like:

Man gets forehead cast
A Panchakarma cure helps you to ground yourself.
  • The here and now belongs to me.
  • I feel the connection to myself and my environment.
  • The present is a gift.
  • My mind is calm and my thoughts clear.
  • I achieve my goals step by step.
  • My environment feels me and I feel its energies.

An Ayurvedic cure is always a good way to restore your inner balance. During a Panchakarma treatment at EA Sonnhof we focus on your needs. This not only helps you to reconnect with your inner self, but also to maintain it in the long term. We take extra time for you and try to find a way together with you to create a new and better life with fulfillment, steadfastness and calmness.

You will notice that as soon as you feel grounded again, many things will go easier for you. You feel really good.
