Detox smoothies against spring fatigue

We all know the phenomenon: the warm season begins, the sun shines, nature awakens. And us? We just feel limp, our eyes close by themselves - in the middle of the day - and lack of energy spreads so much in us that the bed seems like a place of salvation. But we have collected a few delicious detox smoothies against spring fatigue for you, which on the one hand help to flush waste products and toxins from the body, and on the other hand give you an energy booster.

According to Ayurveda, springtime tiredness is due to too much Kapha in us. We have accumulated this in the winter through our diet, among other things, and now it makes itself felt in the form of Ama - in many different ways. To eliminate the accumulated waste and toxins and thus become fit for spring, a detox program is the best thing to do. In addition to exercise and a positive mind-set, a kapha-balancing, light diet is especially recommended. This should preferably be warm and freshly cooked, so that the digestion is not additionally burdened, which anyway becomes sluggish in spring.

Tips when enjoying your detox smoothies

  • Drink detox smoothies more at lunchtime, when your digestive fire agni is most active.
  • Make sure that you use fresh ingredients. Frozen food puts a strain on the digestive system.
  • Smoothies are like a meal, so take your time drinking them.
  • Enjoy your smoothie lukewarm or at room temperature to avoid stressing your digestion.
  • Digestion stimulating spices such as turmeric or ginger can be used as an additive or individually. You can find various herbs and spice mixtures, for example, in our online store.

Light detox smoothie with lamb's lettuce and pears

Ingredients:

  • 1 washed, cored and finely chopped pear
  • 2 handfuls of washed and cleaned lamb's lettuce
  • ¼ tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp honey (optional)

Preparation:

  • Steam pear pieces with approx. 1 tbsp. water for 2 to 3 minutes
  • Place steamed pear pieces in a blender with all other ingredients and about a cup of lukewarm water and blend for about a minute
  • Drink with awareness, lots of love and at the pace of enjoyment

A green delight

Quick green detox smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 3 coarsely chopped bananas
  • 1 to 2 chopped celery stalks
  • 4 cups spinach
  • 1 cup water

Preparation:

  • Simply liquefy all ingredients with the blender
  • Pour over and enjoy slowly sip by sip

Ingredients:

  • 1 washed, cored and finely chopped pear
  • 2 stalks of celery washed, cleaned and cut into small pieces
  • Half a date cut into small pieces
  • One piece of avocado, about 1/8
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. coriander

Preparation:

  • Steam pear pieces with approx. 1 tbsp. water for 2 to 3 minutes
  • Place steamed pear pieces in a blender with all other ingredients and about a cup of lukewarm water and blend for about a minute
  • Melt in your mouth and drink with a good appetite

As soon as spring fatigue gets to us, we automatically crave a real energy kick. This is why smoothies are so popular. On the one hand, you can absorb various nutrients at the same time and on the other hand, the creamy substance has a nourishing effect, which is also fun to drink. As an alternative to the smoothie, you can also drink a lassi from time to time. These have yogurt as a basis, which in itself in Ayurveda is considered difficult to digest, but processed in Lassi, is particularly good for intestinal flora, helps against constipation and also stimulates digestion. This is due to the combination of yogurt, water and appropriate herbs. A lassi also has a satiating effect, gives us quick energy and balances the doshas.

Simple Kapha lassi

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp Kapha spice blend - available in our online store
  • ½ TL Trikatu - available in our online store
  • 600 ml lukewarm water
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 400 ml yogurt

Preparation:

  • Spices pour hot water, infuse for a few minutes
  • Add 250 ml lukewarm water
  • Add honey to the mixture
  • Mix yogurt with remaining water until foamy and add to the spiced water
  • Stir everything well
  • Lassi best left to stand for 30 minutes
  • Best enjoyed slowly and sip by sip at lunchtime

Detox with body, mind & soul - in your home

In addition to springtime fatigue, other "winter leftovers" often get to us at the beginning of the warm season, such as a feeling of heaviness, weight gain and a general low feeling. We therefore automatically crave lightness as a counterbalance. In general, a detox regimen after winter acts like a deep cleanse. You get rid of ballast, expel toxins, prepare yourself physically and mentally for the change of seasons. We do not always have the opportunity to do such a cure far away from everyday life in a designated resort, such as the European Ayurveda Resort Sonnhof.
