Ayurveda in trend

Fashionable lifestyle or expansion of consciousness? Surely you have already noticed that the Ayurvedic philosophy is spreading. More and more people are interested in healthy nutrition, sustainability and also to develop their own potential. Among them are also a lot of stars or personalities who are in the public eye and popularize the Ayurvedic lifestyle. So it is no wonder that Ayurveda as a holistic philosophy is "in trend". But what exactly does this mean or what is behind this interest?

Ayurveda: come to stay

Ayurveda in trend
European Ayurveda® combines the traditional teachings of Ayurveda with the European lifestyle

If something is hot at the moment, then it is fashionable. But fashions have an expiration date. This is not true of Ayurveda, because the philosophy is a guide to a better, healthier and fuller life. Integrated into every stage of being, Ayurveda is a constant companion. Be it diet, exercise, health, beauty or personal development, Ayurveda requires conscious choice and attention. It cannot be simply consumed, but requires active doing.

Sonnhof also wants to help as many people as possible to become a better version of themselves with the concept of European Ayurveda®. In addition to a form of Ayurveda adapted to our Western lifestyle, personal mentoring is also included. And it is important that guests can take home, live and experience European Ayurveda® even after their stay at the resort.

Body, mind and soul united

It generally seems that there is much more to the current "trend" than a fad. More and more we see ourselves as a unit again. If our body is not well, then our soul is not well and vice versa. In further consequence we can also assume that it does not go well to us as mankind, if it suffers our earth. If we see ourselves as part of a unity, then this also influences the way we want to set our steps. And even if most of us cannot change the whole world overnight, at the moment many WANT to change the world within themselves. And that is already a remarkable step.

Conscious, healthy nutrition with Ayurveda

Ayurveda in trend
A healthy diet is becoming increasingly important for many.

Just the awareness of how insanely important nutrition is for health, well-being, even appearance, is becoming more and more widespread in recent years, especially appeal as well as acceptance. When we realize what we are doing to our organism with unhealthy food, robbing us of energy, when food should be nourishing us after all, it does something to our consciousness. And that is also good. Automatically you will be more mindful of your choices while shopping, eating your lunch at work or cooking at home.

If you have an awareness of what is behind each fruit and vegetable, which spices are good for what - which ones are there in the first place - then you have the opportunity to add to your body what it needs. Mindfulness also has something to do with recognizing what gifts nature has provided for us. As funny or sad as it may sound, many people can't even name most plants when they walk in nature. And this in an age when we have the easiest access to knowledge. What does it say about our intelligence if we eat but don't know what we are eating? Unconsciousness makes us feel insecure - and many would like to consciously say goodbye to this feeling.

Get to know yourself

One of the most beautiful, but also most difficult journeys is the journey to yourself. Getting to know yourself, knowing what is hidden in our soul and spirit, is probably the most important encounter you can have. When you know yourself, you know where your limits are. And here, too, the trend seems to be to expand them more and more, to open up to life and everything it has to offer. This is how changes are possible and only in this way can you really discover what universe is hidden within you.

Elisabeth Mauracher, the managing director of Sonnhof, lives European Ayurveda® and, as a coach in Empowerment Mentoring, has the impression more and more that people are turning strongly to their own intuition. "It is becoming normal again for someone to express his or her feelings and not suppress them," she says. If we become freer in dealing with our feelings, give them space and become able to articulate them, we can better deal with negative feelings and also change them. In the broadest sense, this not only increases the quality of life, but also gives you the chance to discover your true greatness yourself.
